Ray Culver Talks About the Challenges of AI Recruitment
Oct 29, 2019
On this week’s Recruitment DNA podcast, our host Max sits down with Ray Culver Live from SourceCon Atlanta!
Ray Culver has been in the recruitment industry for 25 years. He is the Director of Client Solutions at Scout, a software company that connects employers with the best search firms and third-party recruiters to fill jobs. They use AI to identify, rank, and match the best recruiters for each role, industry, and location. Their recruitment tech identifies specialists by harnessing sophisticated data analytics – aptly called “Performance Based Matching” – all within an ATS (Applicant Tracking System).
Ray gives his insight on AI in Recruitment, the challenges it entails, and how a company can embrace this change on the podcast. This marked the first time Scout joined SourceCon, according to Ray. Their CRO also gave a talk about “How AI is Disrupting the Recruitment Industry” during the conference. In the episode, Max asks Ray, how does Scout address the bias against AI and make it digestible and potentially not threatening?
“I think where we come from, and how we really make it into our client conversations is, the AI is only helping to enhance the process”, Ray relates. He then proceeds to talk about the areas in which AI can become efficient in assisting HR and recruiting staff, and help alleviate stress and give you better results. Ray emphasizes that conversational AI can make human conversations better instead of dampen it.
